What Educational qualification is required to join Indian Army?

Educational Qualification:10th standard pass with 45% marks in aggregate, and 33% in each subject. No minimum % is essential if higher qualifications exist.

What is the Selection Process?

Selection Process: You all aspirants know that every recruitment has a common round of written exam and interview. But there are a few special exams where you have to qualify other stages of exams. In this case, you would have to undergo a Written Exam, Physical Endurance Test, Medical Test, and Final Interview to join Army.

Salary: The salary in Indian Army may vary from post to post. After 7th Pay commission salary should be increased.

What skills and Medical need for an Army Officer?

Skills and Attributes: If you want to join then you should have these qualities such as Effective Intelligence, Sense of Responsibility, Determination, Courage, Decision-making ability, Expertise at the job, Leadership quality, Teamwork, Loyalty, Selflessness

Medical: When you are a soldier in the Army you should have robust physique and good mental health. The chest should be well developed having minimum 5 cms expansion. Also, have normal hearing with each ear and good binocular vision in both eyes.

Post Structure: When you join Indian Army you have to join as a Lieutenant post. This is the lower post. After starting your career as a Lieutenant you will be promoted step by step according to your experience, quality of work, etc. You will get the honorable posts respectively such as Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Lt Colonel, Colonel, Brigadier, Major General, Lt General, General. Now I am discussing here the necessary qualification and other in detail for Lieutenant post below.

For Lieutenant post: There are many ways to join in Lieutenant post. They are given below for your convenience.

1)NCC Special (Men & Women)
Age – 19-25 Years
Qualifications – Graduate 50% aggregate “A” or “B” grade in NCC “C” certificate

2)Short Sevice Commission
(Tech Men & Women)
Age – 19-27 Years
Qualifications – BE/BTech stream of Engineering/B.Arch, MSC Computer

3)Short Sevice Commission (Non-Tech)
Age – 19-25 Years
Qualifications – Graduate

4)Indian Military Academy (Non-Tech)
Age – 19-24 Years
Qualifications – Graduate
10+2 Tech
Age – 16½-19½ Years
Qualifications – 10+2 (70% marks with PCM)

5)National Defence Academy
Age – 16½-19½ Years
Qualifications – 10+2

6)JAG (Men & Women)
Age – 21-27 Years
Qualifications – Law Graduate LLB with 55% marks Registered with Bar Council of India / State

7)TGC
Age – 21-27 Years
Qualifications – BE / B.Tech streams of Engineering / B.Arch MSc computer

8)UES
Age – 18-24 Years

There are some other posts in Army which are directly not related to the soldier and technical posts. They are recruited in other way starting from  Sepoy. Then you can go step by step up to Subedar Major. The posts are Sepoy, Naik, Havildar, Naib Subedar, Subedar, Subedar Major

For Sepoy: 

1)Soldier Tradesman
Age – 17½ – 23 Years
Qualifications – 10th / ITI and 8th pass (for some trades)

2)Soldier Nursing Assistant/Tech (RVC)
Age – 17½ – 23 Years
Qualifications – 10+2 pass (50% Marks)
(Each subject must have 40% marks)
with Physics, Chemistry, Biology

3)Soldier Tech
Age – 17½ – 23 Years
Qualifications – 10+2 pass (50% Marks)
(Each subject must have 40% marks)
with Physics, Chemistry, Maths

4)Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper
Age – 17½ – 23 Years
Qualifications – 10+2 pass (60% marks)
(Each subject must have 50% marks)
with Maths & English

5)Soldier General Duty
Age – 17½ – 21 Years
Qualifications – 10th pass with 45% & each subject must contain 33%

1)Havildar (Education)
Age – 21 – 25 Years
Qualifications – For Group X-MA/MSC/MCA or BA/BSC/BCA with Bed BSC(IT) for Group Y – BSC/BA/BCA (IT) without BEd

2)Surveyor Auto Carto (Engineers)
Age – 20 – 25 Years
Qualifications – BA/BSC with Maths 10+2 (Math & Science)

Naib Subedar: 1)Catering JCO (ASC)
Age – 21 – 27 Years
Qualifications – 10+2 with Diploma in Hotel Management & Catering Technology

2)Religious Teacher (JCO)
Age – 27-34 Years
Qualifications – Graduate + He is qualified in his religion

More Details: The candidate for the post of a soldier in the Army should not have diseases like deformity of bones, hydrocele and varicocele or piles.
