Govt of West Bengal offers Hindi Scholarship scheme for the students of West Bengal who have passed Madhyamik, Higher Secondary, Graduation or any other equivalent degree of other recognized board including Voluntary Hindi Organization. The aim of this is to encourage the study of Hindi in Non-Hindi speaking states like West Bengal.
How much amount of scholarship get for different stages? |
1)For HS stage: The amount of scholarship per month is Rs.300
2)For Graduation stage: The amount of scholarship per month is Rs.500
3)For Post graduation: The amount of scholarship per month is Rs.1000
What is the Eligibility criteria for getting Hindi Scholarship? |
1)A student should belong to a non-Hindi speaking state and be ordinarily residing in West Bengal. Your mother tongue should not be Hindi.
2)Students who belong to the non-Hindi state but have been residing for any purpose in a Hindi speaking state will not be eligible for the scholarship
3)Students who wish to pursue their studies through a correspondence course or who are preparing for an examination privately are not eligible
4)Students who are preparing for two courses simultaneously will not be eligible unless Hindi is one of the subjects of the study in both those courses.
5)Only those candidates will be eligible, who have passed the qualifying examination in the first attempt
6)Candidates of Voluntary Hindi Organizations and other candidates must submit the applications THROUGH PARENT BODY/SCHOOL/COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY with individual accounts details.
7)Candidates should secure at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination.
8)Candidates in employment, whether full or part-time, or whether in a private Organization or a Government Organization will not be eligible unless they are sponsored by the concerned State Government/Union Territory Administration, if so required by them(State/UT)
